Precision Garage Doors of St. Louis repaired the springs in our garage door five years ago and did a wonderful job; however, we could not recall the company name, called a business in Wentzville and were shocked at the recommendation they proposed to install weather stripping on the bottom of our door. So, we dug through a couple files and found your name and number and are so pleased with your service today. Your technician, Christopher Loftus arrived on time, explained there were two ways to install the new weather stripping and that he could fix it. He was polite and professional and accomplished the task in a timely manner. Should we ever need any other repair on the door, we will never forget the name of your company again. I am so very happy with the whole process of scheduling an appointment all the way thru to John, the technician who repaired my door! John was the best, he went above and beyond his duty for getting my garage door working again. I would definitely recommend Precision Garage Door! New rollers and eye sensors were installed. One of the sensors was not working and the rollers had a lot of wear and tear.

Precision is great service company, and they have to be one of the best communicating companies I have every worked with. If I could give them 10 stars, I would in customer service. I had a broken torsion spring on my 16x7 garage door, and my garage door was out of commission! I called them at 7AM the next day, and they had someone at my door within 2 hours! I got an e-mail from them stating the status, and a phone call from my service tech letting me know he was ahead of schedule and could come earlier than anticipated. At that point I was impressed. The only glitch, and the reason for me knocking them down two stars was their quote. (Read further). I am a handy person; I do most of my own home-remodeling projects and maintain my own vehicles services (oil changes, etc.), but didn't feel comfortable at first trying to fix the garage door because of all safety concerns of springs, so I called Precision. I dropped Precision two stars because I felt their prices were a very steep, almost to the point where they are taking advantage of the market knowing you are stuck without them fixing your door. The technician originally quoted $500 that included a stiffener plate for the opener (that tore my garage door when the spring broke) and a replacement center bearing (which was at the end of life), and I just felt the price was not fair market. I was expecting $200-300, and was not ready to pay $500 to have my 25 year old garage door fixed when the hinges and rollers are all starting to show signs of fatigue. Therefore, I declined the service despite a nominal ($59) service charge fee and decided to fix myself. (Keep in mind - I was willing to pay $200 or even $350 to have the door repaired, but when I got the quote - I felt taken advantage of, and at that point - the price did not matter.) I ordered two new springs, and an industrial-grade center-bearing on Amazon), and a stiffener plate for my garage door from Lowes and wound up doing the project myself for less than $75. Granted, Precision pays their service techs (probably $50/hour), but I was amazed at how much markup Precision has in their quotes, so if you are a person who cannot fix things, then you are stuck paying the price! No knock on Precision as they did a great job servicing me, but I believe their prices are 50% higher than I expected. If you are a person that has no home-improvement skills, then you are stuck paying $400-$500 to have your springs replaced .. but, if you are somewhat handy, then don't be afraid to replace the springs yourself at a fraction of the cost. As long as you don't have extension springs, the risk of getting hurt is almost negligible.
